Industries we serve

Eight sectors. Eight sets of rules.

A municipal fleet disposal, a mine's redundant plant and an insolvent estate all end in an auction. Almost nothing before that point is the same.

Why sector matters

The auction is the easy part.

What differs between sectors is everything that surrounds the sale: who is allowed to authorise the disposal, what has to be recorded, who examines the record afterwards, and what happens to the proceeds.

NSB Auctions works to the rules of the sector. The methodology underneath does not change, and neither does the standard of documentation, but the way a mandate is structured, marketed and reported is set by the regime the client operates in.

What we dispose of, across every sector

  • Fleet and vehicles, from light delivery vehicles to specialised municipal units
  • Heavy plant, yellow metal and mining equipment
  • Industrial, workshop and processing equipment
  • Office furniture, technology and telephony
  • Hospitality, catering and facility equipment
  • Inventory, surplus stock and redundant spares
  • Scrap, ferrous and non-ferrous

The sectors

Where NSB Auctions works.

Same four stages, eight different compliance regimes.

An organ of state has to evidence authorisation, open marketing and competitive bidding to the Auditor-General. A liquidator answers to creditors and to the appointment. A bank needs proceeds reconciled against the correct account. A mission needs discretion without losing competition. A corporate refit runs against a lease-end date that will not move. Those differences shape the mandate. They do not change the standard of the record.

Constant across every sector

The regime changes. The method does not.

Whether the client is a municipality, a mine or an executor, the mandate runs the same four stages and produces the same standard of record.

Valuation & cataloguing

Professional assessment of every asset and detailed cataloguing built to maximise value. Condition, specification, hours, serials and photography, recorded properly so buyers bid on facts.

Marketing & reach

Targeted campaigns supported by our verified buyer database, digital platforms and extensive industry network, aimed at the buyers who actually want that asset class.

Auction execution

Live, online, timed-online or on-site, selected to suit the asset and the client's requirements. Competitive bidding under clear, published rules.

Secure settlement

Rapid, transparent and fully reconciled financial settlement, with detailed reporting delivered to the client and available to their auditors.

Compliance & governance

One documentation standard, whoever the client is.

NSB Auctions maintains strict administrative and governance standards. A mine's procurement file and a municipality's audit file are examined by different people for different reasons, and both are satisfied by the same thing: a complete, contemporaneous record.

That record is produced as a matter of course on every mandate, not assembled afterwards when somebody asks for it. Comprehensive disposal reporting, FICA compliance on every transacting bidder, a full audit trail and financial reconciliation, aligned to Auditor-General requirements and corporate governance best practice.

Delivered on every mandate

  • Comprehensive disposal report, lot by lot
  • FICA verification records for transacting bidders
  • Complete audit trail from instruction to settlement
  • Full bid history for every lot offered
  • Financial reconciliation against realised proceeds
  • Documentation aligned to Auditor-General requirements

Sector-specific reporting is added where the mandate requires it, for example reporting into a liquidator's account or into a claim file.
